Trowbridge Amateur Swimming Club
About Us
Trowbridge Amateur Swimming Club (TASC) is a competitive swimming club that promotes swimming within the local community and makes learning, training and competition fun. The club is based at Trowbridge pool, but the club also uses the pools at Dauntsey’s School at West Lavington, and the 50m pool at Bath University.
Progression through the club is dependent on ability and rate of learning, but our aim is to teach swimming and once taught, to develop the swimmer to their fullest potential. Those already able to swim on joining the club are assessed by our teachers/coaches and placed in the most appropriate squad.
Sessions are delivered to a structured programme which is set out in an Annual Development Plan written by our lead coach. The progress of swimmers is regularly monitored and reviewed every 3 months, with swimmers being moved to an alternative squad, if deemed appropriate.
As swimmers progress through the club, TASC offers a wide range of competition opportunities. Our annual club championships offer in house competition where times and competition experience can be obtained in a fun and friendly environment, with the opportunity to review progress. County league galas provide opportunities to swim as a club team against other clubs in the area. Additionally, age group events such as Wiltshire county championships, district, national competition and open meets can be entered on an individual basis through the club, provided entry qualifying times are met.
