British Long Distance Association Postal Swim
For the fourth year running Trowbridge swimmers excelled earlier this year in the British Long Distance Association one-hour postal swim, winning both individual and team medals.
The event, in which competitors had to swim as far as they could in one hour, attracted swimmers from not only the United Kingdom but also Australia and France.
However Trowbridge swimmers once again proved they were up amongst the best.
In the boys 12/13 year age group, Kieran Hill took overall gold swimming 4,680m and
swimming with team-mates Jack Griggs and Sam Smith also took gold in the team event for the fourth consecutive year,
swimming a combined distance of 13,145m.
Both the boys 9years/under team comprising James Reed, Daniel Shepherd and Will Crudgington
and the boys 10-11 years team of Jordan Edwards, Andrew Stevenson and Ricky Griggs narrowly missed a medal,
both teams finishing in 4th place overall.
In the girls 12/13 year age group, Katie Pugh swam well, completing a distance of 4,300m to secure bronze medal position.
