For Trowbridge Amateur Swimming Club their training and hard work paid off in May when four teams competed in the Western Counties ASA Age Group Relays held at Millfield School.
Competition was high with over 14 teams from the South West competing over 200 meters in medley and freestyle races.
Three out of the four teams made it through to the finals, the 13/14 year old girls coming 9th and narrowly missing out on a place. For the 9/10 year old boys, 9/10 year old girls and the 11/12 year old boys however a swim in both the medley and freestyle finals resulted in medals for two of the teams, the first the Club has ever won at this event.
The 9/10 year old boys team comprising Sam Smith, Kieran Hill, David Williams and Jack Griggs battled hard and won bronze in the 200m Medley Relay.
The 9/10 year old girls team comprising Hannah Grubb, Katie Pugh, Georgina Barnes and Emma Hill flew down the pool with strong performances from all members of the team helping to secure silver, again in the 200m Medley Relay.
Well done to everyone who competed!
