Success in Birmingham

Over the Easter weekend 15 intrepid swimmers from Trowbridge Amateur Swimming Club ventured north to Birmingham to take part in their annual Open Competition and did extremely well against the much larger Clubs such as City Of Coventry, City Of Leicester, Walsall and City Of Birmingham.

Jack Griggs (11) and Sam Smith (11) both made it through to the 100m Fly final, with both swimming personal best times and Jack battling through to bring home the bronze medal. Jack also achieved a District Qualifying time in the 200IM.  Kieran Hill (11) qualified for the 100m Backstroke and 100m Breaststroke finals and swam well against hard competition.

For the girls, Amelia Griffin (10) and Emma Hill (10) both achieved District Qualifying times. Amelia swam a huge personal best time in the 200m Breaststroke whilst Emma took 9 seconds off her 400m Freestyle, both finishing well inside the required qualifying times.

Our other swimmers, Katie Pugh, Matthew Griffin, Charlie Smith, Carl Greenan, Rebecca Smith, Joshua Garg, Molly and Jack Borthwick, Kristina Gilbert Pike and Rachel Hampshire, all swam well, many also breaking personal best times in the process. Well done everyone!

Come and support Trowbridge swimmers in their aim to raise £18,000 to buy new electronic timing equipment. Let them pack your shopping bags at Asda on Sunday 20th May.
